The groups in which GSTi ’s Consultants work are structured to suit our clients and the marketplace, and this directly affects your career development.
There are two components – industry expertise and specialization skills – that together define your ‘specialty’ as a Consultant. Industry defines the types of clients you will be serving while specialization skills focus on the type of work or service you will be delivering.

Each group focuses on particular industries in the US and Asia Pacific marketplace. As your career progresses, you are likely to become highly knowledgeable and experienced in one industry.
Work Groups
As a member of the Consulting workforce you will also aligned to one of three work groups - Business Consulting, Business & System Integration Consulting or Technology Consulting. Each of these groups enables us to deliver the increasingly specialized skills that clients demand while providing enhanced career opportunities for our people.

 


Business Consulting Work Group
Business Consulting professionals focus on strategy and take responsibility for organizational change and business transformation. You are likely to be involved in a range of activities from assessing businesses and processes to performing value analysis in order to identify opportunities for improvement. Alternatively, you may be asked to look at how businesses are structured and what they are capable of delivering, and then developing organizational strategies and designs that will enable clients to improve their performance.
The majority of our work in Business Consulting falls within certain key specialties and you are likely to find yourself building deep skills in one of these areas.

Business & Systems Integration Consulting Work Group
The Business & System Integration Consulting work group is responsible for delivering large-scale, complex programs that marry processes with solution development and technology to enable clients to transform the way they do business. As a Business & System Integration consultant, you will likely be in a pivotal role because you will be a central point for the architecture and integration of a business solution. That means taking responsibility for designing and developing the solution and structuring the program, including sourcing and coordinating work from other GSTi workforces. You will manage risks associated with delivery from multiple locations and ensure that we deliver the business results agreed to with the client.
There are many different roles in Business & System Integration Consulting, and therefore significant opportunities for you to develop highly-specialized skills that will further your career.

  • Packaged and industrialized solutions (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Siebel, Retek)
  • Custom solutions and development
  • Solution integration
  • Program management
 

Technology Consulting Work Group
Technology Consulting professionals deliver technology innovation and provide the backbone to our systems integration business. They are expected to build a common set of capabilities: Technology diagnosis and assessment; technology strategy and planning; technology design; and technology implementation. Beyond these core competencies you will specialize in at least one domain and/or specialty area.
